How to excel in your class

A good attitude in learning is what sets an effective learning.  A student should go into class with a sense of purpose and a deep desire for knowledge for learning to take place.  If not, his learning capacity will be limited.  Stepping into the class with blank mind is limiting learning.  Prevent that by reading materials about what your teacher is going to tackle before the lesson.  This will prepare you for assimilation of knowledge.  This kind of habit will also help one to generate doubt and questions that you can ask your teacher while on the lesson.  If your doubts are answered, you will certainly be more interested on the topic for you will have a greater sense of understanding on the topic.

Don’t be afraid or don’t hesitate to ask questions when you are in doubt.  Lack of familiarity on a subject usually leads to disinterest.  For example, a student hates math for he does not do well on math.  He does not do well on math not because he doesn’t have skills when it comes to numbers but because he does not understand the concepts and the use of the formulas.  If you’re too shy to ask your teacher, you can always get ask help from your classmate. Full understanding of the subject leads to mastery of the subject.  Therefore, make sure that you get all your questions answered to be able to be on top.
