Why are Homeworks necessary?

Parents sometimes wonder why homework is important in their children’s progress.  Actually, homework gives parents opportunity to get involved in their children’s education.  If parents show interest in his child’s education or in answering the homework of their child specifically, it promotes enthusiasm in the eyes of the child.  As a result, the child takes more interest in completing their assigned homework.

It might not be easy as it seems for most parents to help their children with their homework.  Because the pattern of education is changing, school curriculum is also changing.  What we studied before, or in our time, might not be the same thing that our child is studying right now.  Also, parents usually find it hard to find time to sit with their children and assist them in their homework.  Especially dance classes, guitar lessons and other similar activities take a lot of time.

Homework help children practice whatever they have learned in school.  Also, it prepares them to use resources like reference materials, books and encyclopedias.  Homework also promotes child independence and instills a sense of self-discipline and responsibility.  Homework is a great way to bridge the gap between parents and teachers.  It helps parents in monitoring the progress of their child at school.
